Job Overview: A law firm in Denver, CO, is seeking a skilled Mid-Level Employee Benefits Executive Compensation Associate Attorney with at least 3+ years of experience in various facets of employee benefits and executive compensation matters. The ideal candidate will be proficient in drafting, designing, implementing, and administering tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans, and health and welfare benefit plans, as well as handling executive compensation issues in mergers and acquisitions. Strong knowledge of taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements is essential, including expertise in Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code. The candidate must demonstrate exceptional academic achievement, possess prior law firm experience, and exhibit superb writing, drafting, and communication skills.

Duties:

  • Drafting, designing, implementing, and administering tax-qualified and non-qualified retirement plans.
  • Overseeing health and welfare benefit plans, including design and administration.
  • Handling executive compensation and benefits aspects of mergers and acquisitions.
  • Addressing taxation issues related to executive compensation arrangements, such as Sections 409A and 280G of the Internal Revenue Code.
  • Designing and drafting employment contracts and other executive compensation arrangements.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar Association in Colorado.
  • At least 3+ years of experience in employee benefits and executive compensation matters.
  • Strong academic record with a high level of academic achievement.
  • Prior experience in a law firm setting is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Colorado State Bar.
