A law firm is seeking a Mid-level Asset Management and Investment Funds Associate Attorney for their New York City office. The candidate will join a dynamic global Asset Management and Investment Funds practice, engaging with prestigious global clients. The role involves collaborating with a seasoned legal team, offering mentorship and opportunities for professional growth.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on matters related to open-end (mutual) funds, closed-end funds, and exchange traded funds (ETFs).
  • Represent investment companies, investment advisers, and board members on issues governed by U.S. federal securities law.
  • Navigate regulations including the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
  • Assume increasing levels of responsibility on diverse legal matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Four to six years of relevant legal experience.
  • Experience in a top-tier law firm or in-house role at an asset manager preferred.
  • Comprehensive understanding of U.S. federal securities law.
  • Familiarity with regulations pertaining to investment companies and advisers.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and negotiation skills.

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the Bar in the state of Massachusetts.

 

Skills:

  • Proficiency in legal research and writing.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Effective time management and organizational skills.
