Job Overview:
A law firm in Raleigh, NC, is seeking a Litigation Of Counsel to join their team. The primary responsibilities of this role include communicating with clients, supervising associates, working with experts, assisting with fact development and depositions, reviewing and drafting discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and helping develop case strategy.

Duties:

  • Communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
  • Supervise associates and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Work with experts to gather necessary information for cases.
  • Assist with fact development and conduct depositions.
  • Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
  • Help develop case strategy in collaboration with the legal team.
  • Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence promptly.
  • Provide timely, accurate, and quality work products.
  • Successfully meet deadlines and expectations.
  • Foster positive work relationships and comply with firm policies and practices.
  • Engage in both physical and sedentary activities required for the role.
  • Perform any other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

  • J.D. degree and Bar admission.
  • 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
  • Experience with product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
  • A science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
  • Superior research, analytical, and writing skills are preferred.
  • Experience with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage projects effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and project management skills.
  • Direct and applicable experience from nationally recognized schools.

Education/Certifications:

  • J.D. degree
  • Bar Admission

  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing abilities.
  • Supervisory and leadership capabilities.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
