Business Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm is seeking a Business Litigation Associate Attorney for their office in Florham Park, NJ. This position offers the opportunity to practice in all phases of general commercial, civil, and business litigation matters with a national and international client base.

Job Overview:

• Practice in various areas of complex commercial litigation, including consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, commercial/industrial buildings or other real estate, securities and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation.
• Handle all aspects of litigation from case inception through trial and appeal.
• Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

Duties:

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, briefs, and other legal documents.
• Assist with all phases of discovery, including e-discovery.
• Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Manage caseload and prioritize tasks efficiently.

Requirements:

• 2-4 years of law firm experience in a litigation-based practice.
• Active membership in the New Jersey Bar.
• Solid background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation.
• Solid background and prior experience in complex commercial litigation such as consumer class actions, antitrust litigation, disputes involving commercial/industrial buildings or other real estate, securities, and shareholder litigation, corporate governance disputes, real estate financing and development disputes, and/or multi-district or multi-forum litigation. 
• Excellent academic credentials.
• Strong organization skills, attention to detail, writing, and analytical skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with the discovery process and e-discovery.
• Deposition, hearing, and oral argument experience.
• Experience working directly with and understanding the needs of large/institutional clients.
• Clerkship/judicial internship experience.

Education & Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar.

• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Time management and prioritization abilities.
