Mid- or Senior-level Fiduciary/Business Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm located in Florham Park is seeking a Mid- or Senior-level Fiduciary/Business Litigation Associate Attorney with 4+ years of experience. The candidate will assist several seasoned principals in managing a fast-paced and varied caseload, handling matters before the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York. The practice encompasses a range of fiduciary and business litigation matters, including advising corporate and individual fiduciaries and beneficiaries, prosecuting and defending fiduciary accountings, will/trust/beneficiary challenges, corporate and partnership disputes, adult guardianships, and commercial litigation. Exceptional research and analytical skills, written and oral advocacy, and strong interpersonal skills are essential.

Duties:

• Assist seasoned principals in managing a fast-paced and varied caseload of fiduciary and business litigation matters.
• Handle matters before the state and federal courts of New Jersey and New York, including conducting discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and other similar proceedings.
• Work closely with Principals to develop and revise appropriate legal strategy for discovery, investigation, handling, and case trials and hearings.
• Provide guidance to clients on legal opinions, rights, and obligations in fiduciary and business matters.
• Stay current with changes in the law and understand various disciplines involved in cases being defended.
• Utilize outstanding research and analytical skills for complex legal issues.
• Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and legal memoranda.
• Conduct legal research on complex legal issues and provide analysis and recommendations to Principals.
• Attend client meetings, hearings, and other case-related events as required.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• Member in good standing of the NJ State Bar; NY State Bar admission is a plus.
• Minimum of 4+ years of experience in fiduciary and business litigation.
• Knowledge of fiduciary and business law, with specific understanding of the operations and requirements of clients.
• Judicial clerkship experience in Probate/General Equity is a plus.
• Strong analytical skills for complex legal issues.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
