A law firm located in Chicago, IL is seeking a Mid-level Labor and Employment Associate Attorney with experience counseling clients on employment-related decision-making, developing employment policies, and handling employment litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in employment law.

 

Duties:

  • Counsel clients on employment-related matters at all stages of decision-making.
  • Develop and maintain employment policies, practices, and procedures compliant with evolving legal requirements.
  • Handle DOL audits and EEOC charges, including defending investigations, preparing position statements, representing clients in fact-finding conferences and on-site visits, and negotiating settlements.
  • Manage employment litigation cases, including drafting responsive pleadings, handling discovery processes, and drafting motions for summary judgment.
  • Represent clients in mediations, conciliations, and settlement negotiations.

 

Requirements:

  • JD from an ABA accredited law school.
  • 3-5 years of experience in employment law.
  • Title VII experience.
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with diverse groups.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.

 

Education:

JD from an ABA accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and manage multiple tasks.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for effective client interaction and teamwork.
