The Tax Controversy Associate Attorney will be responsible for representing clients in various tax-related disputes and controversies. They will handle a range of cases, from civil and criminal tax matters to whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures. The ideal candidate will possess a strong academic background, exceptional analytical skills, and a minimum of 3-5 years of tax litigation experience.

Duties:

• Represent clients in tax-related disputes before various administrative and judicial bodies.
• Conduct legal research and analysis on complex tax issues.
• Prepare and file legal documents, including complaints, motions, and briefs.
• Provide strategic tax planning advice to clients.
• Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm on tax matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• LLM in Taxation is required.
• Active license to practice law in South Carolina.
• 3-5 years of experience in tax litigation.
• Demonstrated experience in tax court proceedings.
• Familiarity with civil and criminal tax controversy matters.
• Preferred experience with whistleblower claims and voluntary offshore disclosures.
