A law firm is actively seeking a dynamic Intellectual Property Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team in Washington, D.C. The firm is looking for an individual with 1-6 years of experience, and possessing a strong background in patent litigation. Preferred candidates will have law firm experience and a technical degree, demonstrating an aptitude for handling cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields. Exceptional academic credentials and superior written and oral communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Duties:

  • Manage a diverse caseload of intellectual property litigation cases, focusing on patents
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and technical experts to understand complex scientific concepts
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research, draft pleadings, motions, and other legal documents
  • Prepare for and actively participate in depositions, hearings, and trials
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates and legal counsel
  • Work closely with senior attorneys to develop and execute case strategies
  • Analyze and evaluate the merits of intellectual property claims and defenses
  • Stay informed about developments in intellectual property law and relevant scientific fields
  • Engage in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes

Requirements:

  • 1-6 years of experience in intellectual property litigation
  • Preference for candidates with law firm experience
  • Technical degree preferred, with an aptitude for handling cases related to biology, chemistry, physical sciences, engineering, or related fields
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • Patent litigation experience is required
  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Technical degree (preferred)

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law and in good standing in the relevant jurisdiction

Skills:

  • Strong legal research and analytical skills
  • Ability to comprehend and work with intricate scientific and technical concepts
  • Superior written and oral communication skills
