Education Law Associate Attorney

A law firm in Albany, NY is seeking an Education Law Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education law, with a focus on transactional employment work, student privacy and discipline, regulatory compliance, special education, policy drafting, labor relations, and litigation/administrative proceedings in the education sector.

Duties:

• Provide advice and counseling to clients on education law matters, including employment issues and student privacy.
• Represent clients in federal and state regulatory compliance matters.
• Handle special education processes and proceedings on behalf of clients.
• Review and draft school policies and procedures to ensure legal compliance.
• Engage in labor relations, bargaining, and grievances resolution for educational institutions.
• Represent clients in litigation and administrative proceedings related to educational issues.
• Provide legal support for school-related business transactions and financing matters.

Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in education law.
• Experience working with a variety of educational institutions, including public, private, charter schools, and higher education.
• Strong multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple legal matters simultaneously.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a strategic approach to problem-solving.
• Superior academic credentials, including a law degree from an accredited institution.
• Admission to the New York State Bar.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Admission to the New York State Bar.
