Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Private Equity Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess at least 2 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance, focusing on borrower-side representation. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with private equity sponsors, although candidates with expertise in general company-side representation are also encouraged to apply.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel and support on private equity finance matters, including private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions.
  • Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including credit agreements, security documents, and inter-creditor agreements.
  • Conducted due diligence reviews and assisted in structuring financing transactions.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions.
  • Research and analyze legal issues related to finance transactions and provide recommendations to clients.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission by waiver.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance, preferably focusing on borrower-side representation.
  • Strong understanding of finance and corporate law principles.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission by waiver.
