Job Overview

A law firm seeks an experienced Employment Attorney in Los Angeles, CA, to join its Labor & Employment practice. This role offers a hybrid work schedule and the chance to engage in sophisticated employment litigation and counseling matters.

Duties

  • Represent employers in single-plaintiff and complex employment litigation, including discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage and hour matters.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation from inception through trial or resolution.
  • Advise clients on employment law compliance, policies, and risk management.
  • Draft and argue motions, conduct discovery, and manage case strategy.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Participate in mediation, arbitration, and trial proceedings.
  • Collaborate with partners and firm leadership to grow client relationships and develop new business.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in employment litigation, ideally with experience representing management.
  • Modest portable book of business (approximately $200,000 or more).
  • Demonstrated ability to manage cases independently and provide practical business-oriented advice.
  • Exceptional written and oral advocacy skills.
  • Strong client relationship and business development skills.
  • Admission to practice in California.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
