A law firm in Miami is seeking a talented Patent Litigation Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation and a background in electrical or mechanical engineering. The ideal candidate will also have additional trademark and/or copyright litigation experience, although not required. This role requires a strong academic background, exceptional research, writing, and communication skills.

 

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research on patent infringement issues and relevant case law.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda related to patent litigation.
  • Assist in the preparation of discovery requests and responses.
  • Participate in pre-trial preparation and strategy sessions.
  • Represent clients in court proceedings, including depositions and oral motion practice.

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.
  • 3-6 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Admission to the Bar.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

 

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or Mechanical Engineering (BSME) preferred.
  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

 

Certifications:

Bar admission required.

  • Proficiency in legal research tools and databases.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
