Job Overview

A law firm seeks a Labor and Employment Associate with at least 5 years of experience to join their Seattle, WA office. This senior-level position involves significant client interaction, often becoming the primary contact for clients. Experience in California employment law is highly beneficial due to collaborative work with California offices.

Duties

  • Provide complex employment law advice and counsel.
  • Manage single-plaintiff cases and complex litigation, including class actions.
  • Collaborate with partners on case strategy and tactics.
  • Conduct substantial brief writing and trial work as required.
  • Interview witnesses and prepare fact presentations for litigated matters.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Maintain workload and anticipate next steps.
  • Manage case dockets, dates, and deadlines.
  • Assist with special projects and team collaboration.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice in Washington and California.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Highly responsive and proactive with strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member.
  • Commitment to diversity and personal practice development.
  • Creative thinking and continuous improvement approach.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
