A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a Patent Agent (Immunology/Virology) with a Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology and 3+ years of experience prosecuting patents in the immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space. The candidate will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, responding to office actions, conducting prior art searches, and providing legal support in fields such as immunotherapy, gene therapy, and cell therapy.

 

Duties:

  • Draft patent applications and responses to office actions in the fields of immunology and virology
  • Conduct prior art searches and analyze patent landscapes
  • Assist in the preparation of legal opinions related to patentability, freedom-to-operate, and validity
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop patent strategies
  • Stay updated on developments in immunology, virology, and patent law
  • Manage patent portfolios and provide strategic advice to clients
  • Communicate effectively with clients, attorneys, and patent examiners
  • Prepare technical documents and presentations for patent prosecution

 

Requirements:

  • Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology
  • 3+ years of experience prosecuting patents in immunology and molecular biology therapeutic space
  • Admission to practice before the USPTO
  • Strong academic credentials

 

Education:

Ph.D. in Immunology or Virology
