A law firm in New York City is seeking a Project Finance Associate Attorney with a strong background in debt finance and experience in the energy industry. The ideal candidate will have 3-6 years of experience, focusing on project finance in renewables and conventional power, with additional exposure to project development and M&A.

 

Duties:

  • Provide legal support and guidance on project finance transactions within the energy sector.
  • Draft and negotiate various project finance documents, including loan agreements, security agreements, and intercreditor agreements.
  • Conduct thorough due diligence on project finance deals, reviewing financial documents and performing legal research.
  • Assist clients in structuring and executing project finance transactions efficiently.
  • Advise clients on regulatory compliance matters pertaining to project finance within the energy industry.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, lenders, and government agencies.
  • Stay updated on developments in project finance law and industry trends.
  • Offer assistance on other legal matters related to project development and M&A as necessary.

 

Requirements:

  • 3-6 years of experience in the energy industry.
  • Strong background in project finance, with expertise in renewables and conventional power.
  • Proficiency in debt finance transactions.
  • Additional experience in project development and M&A is advantageous.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of NY or eligibility for admission.

 

Skills:

  • Thorough understanding of project finance principles and transactions.
  • Exceptional drafting and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to effectively collaborate within a team environment.
