A law firm in Washington, DC is seeking a Government Contracts Partner to provide strategic legal counsel and representation to clients involved in government contracting. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience navigating federal regulations, advising on compliance issues, handling bid protests, resolving contract disputes, and leading litigation matters.

Duties:

  • Advise clients comprehensively on government contracting matters, ensuring compliance with federal regulations such as FAR and DFARS.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and interactions with various government agencies, offering strategic counsel and advocacy.
  • Lead and manage government contracts litigation, overseeing all legal proceedings phases.
  • Develop and implement legal strategies to mitigate risks and achieve favorable client outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in the District of Columbia or eligible for admission.
  • Minimum of 8 years of demonstrated experience specializing in government contracts law within a reputable law firm or government agency.
  • Proven track record of successfully handling complex government contracting issues, including bid protests and contract disputes.

Certifications:

  • Certification or specialization in government contracts law (preferred but not required).

Skills:

  • Expert knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other pertinent federal regulations.
  • Strong litigation skills with experience managing and directing legal teams in government contract disputes.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with exceptional business development acumen, capable of cultivating and sustaining client relationships.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex legal concepts clearly and persuasively.
