A law firm seeks an Energy Regulatory and Transactions Associate in Washington, D.C., to support its Energy Regulatory and Transactions group in advising renewable developers, utilities, power marketers, and transmission companies on federal and state energy matters.

Duties

  • Prepare and file regulatory submissions under FPA, NGA, PURPA, PUHCA, and before state utility commissions.

  • Assist with administrative and federal court litigation, investigations, and FERC settlements.

  • Negotiate and draft power purchase, interconnection, transmission, and gas supply agreements.

  • Support energy-related financings and transactional work for data centers and project developers.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience in energy regulatory practice and related transactions.

  • Demonstrated familiarity with FERC processes and renewable energy or gas sector matters.

  • Admission to the District of Columbia Bar.

  • Strong analytical, drafting, and negotiation abilities.

Education

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school

Certifications

  • Active member of the D.C. Bar
