A law firm in Washington D.C. is actively seeking an International Trade and Regulatory (Litigation) Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of experience. More experienced candidates with relevant credentials may also be considered. The ideal candidate should possess excellent academic credentials, along with strong verbal, analytical, writing, and interpersonal skills. This role requires expertise in trade remedies, customs, export controls, sanctions, and/or CFIUS. Fluency in Mandarin is strongly desired.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in international trade and regulatory litigation matters, including trade remedies, customs disputes, export control issues, sanctions, and CFIUS cases.
  • Conduct thorough legal research, draft legal documents, and contribute to case preparation and strategy development.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to provide legal counsel and strategic guidance.
  • Attend court hearings, depositions, and other legal proceedings as needed.
  • Manage and maintain case files, documentation, and records with precision and compliance.

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of legal practice experience, with a focus on international trade and regulatory litigation.
  • More experienced candidates with relevant credentials may also be considered.
  • Excellent academic credentials, including a J.D. from an accredited law school.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Exceptional analytical and research skills.
  • Proven experience in trade remedies, customs, export controls, sanctions, and/or CFIUS.
  • Fluency in Mandarin is strongly desired.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the District of Columbia Bar.

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research and analysis related to international trade and regulatory matters.
  • Case management and organizational skills.
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents.
  • Effective courtroom presence and litigation skills.
  • Strong client communication and relationship management abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of international trade laws and regulations.
