Labor and Employment Attorney

Job Overview

A law firm seeks a skilled Labor and Employment Attorney in Irvine, CA. This role involves handling a variety of employment cases, including wage and hour disputes, harassment, wrongful termination, and whistleblower claims. The attorney will work closely with a dedicated team from case inception to trial.

Duties

• Handle all aspects of labor and employment litigation, including case strategy, discovery, motion practice, and trial preparation and execution.
• Represent clients in court, mediation, depositions, and arbitration, advocating effectively at each stage.
• Draft clear and compelling legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and settlement agreements.
• Communicate effectively and frequently with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, including engaging in regular settlement negotiations on behalf of clients.
• Manage caseload independently while collaborating with company attorneys and support staff.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school.
• Active State Bar membership in California.
• Minimum 2-4 years of employment/labor or similar law experience.
• Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and courtroom advocacy abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Education

• J.D. from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active State Bar membership in California.
