Job Overview:
A respected law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking a full-time attorney with a diverse legal background to support its expanding practice areas, including environmental regulation, workplace injury claims, and estate planning. This position involves hands-on litigation, client advocacy, strategic negotiation, and cross-functional collaboration within a dynamic legal setting. The role suits a legal professional adept at managing cases from start to resolution and capable of interpreting and applying varied legal frameworks, including tribal law, when applicable.

Duties:

  • Advocate for clients in judicial forums, including courtroom trials, hearings, and administrative proceedings

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and analysis to support litigation and client advisories

  • Prepare a wide array of legal documents such as pleadings, contracts, and motions

  • Negotiate resolutions and settlements that align with clients’ best interests

  • Deliver legal counsel in areas involving environmental compliance and workers’ rights

  • Interpret and apply relevant tribal legal provisions as needed

  • Oversee file organization, deadline tracking, and procedural workflows

  • Partner with other attorneys and staff within the firm to ensure cohesive case management

Requirements:

  • Active license to practice law in California

  • Demonstrated experience in courtroom litigation and legal negotiations

  • Familiarity with administrative duties related to legal case oversight

  • Prior involvement in one or more of the following areas: environmental law, workplace compensation, estate law, or indigenous legal systems preferred

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

  • Current admission to the State Bar of California

Skills:

  • Sharp analytical thinking and legal reasoning

  • Precision in drafting and reviewing legal documents

  • Effective communicator with clients and legal counterparts

  • Capable of managing multiple cases and shifting priorities

  • Proficiency with legal research platforms (e.g., Lexis-Nexis)
