Job Overview:

The Investment Management Associate Attorney will provide legal counsel and support to clients in the investment management industry. This role involves advising on regulatory compliance, drafting legal documents, and representing clients before regulatory agencies.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and guidance on matters related to the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, the Securities Act of 1933, and the Securities Exchange Act of 1934.
  • Assist clients in the preparation and review of registration statements, offering documents, and other regulatory filings.
  • Draft and review investment management agreements, board meeting materials, and related documents.
  • Conduct legal research on complex regulatory issues and provide recommendations to clients.
  • Represent clients in regulatory investigations and enforcement actions.

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years of experience practicing law with a focus on investment management.
  • Strong knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940, the Investment Advisers Act of 1940, and related regulations.
  • Experience representing registered investment companies, private funds, and investment advisers.
  • Excellent writing skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Proactive problem-solving attitude and ability to work independently.
  • Strong academic credentials from a reputable law school.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission via waiver.
