Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in downtown San Diego is seeking a motivated Junior to Mid-Level Family Law Attorney to join its Family Law Practice Group. This position offers an exciting opportunity for attorneys to develop their skills in a dynamic and collaborative environment while gaining substantial client interaction and courtroom experience. The role involves handling various family law matters, including RFO motions, discovery, and declarations, while working closely with senior attorneys on complex cases.

Duties:

• Draft and respond to Requests for Orders (RFO) motions with confidence.
• Prepare Declarations of Disclosure (DODs) and Income and Expense Declarations.
• Propound and respond to discovery requests and manage motions to compel.
• Conduct in-depth legal research, analyze source documents, and assist with courtroom preparations.
• Represent clients in RFO hearings, and evidentiary hearings, and serve as a second chair in family law trials.
• Assist in drafting mediation and trial briefs and attend mediations alongside senior attorneys.

Requirements:

• 1-7 years of experience in family law, particularly in handling RFO motions, discovery, and declarations.
• Some courtroom experience, especially with RFO hearings, is preferred.
• Strong legal research and writing skills, with a particular focus on declarations and pleadings.
• Excellent interpersonal skills for client interaction and gathering case details.
• A proactive, detail-oriented approach to case management.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Bar membership in California.

Skills:

• Exceptional legal writing and research abilities.
• Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues.
• Experience in family law practices, including motions, discovery, and court hearings.
