A law firm in San Diego, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney with experience in family law. The candidate will manage their own cases while also providing support to other attorneys on complex cases. They will litigate family law matters from start to finish, with actual courtroom experience.

 

Duties:

  • Manage own cases in family law, providing comprehensive legal representation.
  • Support other attorneys on complex family law cases.
  • Conduct research on various family law issues to develop cases.
  • Attend depositions, mediations, and hearings.
  • Review, analyze, and draft legal documents with precision and attention to detail.
  • Communicate effectively and compassionately with clients of varying levels of understanding.
  • Maintain professionalism in communications with external parties, including attorneys, clients, and support staff.
  • Track and manage billable hours, ensuring timely completion of client and case management tasks.

 

Requirements:

  • Experience in family law is required.
  • Must be licensed to practice law in California.
  • Certification as a Certified Family Law Specialist (CFLS) or eligibility is a plus.

 

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of California.

 

Skills:

  • Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent organization, planning, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
