Real Estate Litigation/Landlord-Tenant Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Real Estate Litigation/Landlord-Tenant Attorney with substantial experience to join their team in Uniondale, NY. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling various real estate litigation matters with a focus on landlord-tenant disputes, particularly in the NYC region.

Duties:

• Drafting motions for summary judgment and motions to compel
• Appearing daily in Landlord-Tenant court to argue motions and try cases
• Handling NYC based Landlord-Tenant court appearances and preparing predicate notices
• Drafting pleadings in plenary actions for breach of contract/lease/guaranty
• Drafting lease modifications, surrender agreements, and other related landlord-tenant agreements
• Providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel to real estate operators with a focus on the NYC region and throughout the US
• Conducting landlord/tenant trials (experience a plus)
• Handling commercial and construction litigation matters (experience a plus)

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of Landlord-Tenant/Real Estate Litigation experience
• Experience in NYC based Landlord-Tenant court appearances and preparing predicate notices
• Experience drafting pleadings for breach of contract/lease/guaranty
• Prior experience providing legal advice to real estate operators
• Landlord/Tenant trial experience preferred
• NYC-based real estate experience preferred (residential and commercial)
• Commercial/construction litigation experience a plus

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school
• Admission to the New York State Bar
• Additional certifications or coursework related to real estate law preferred
