Mid-Level Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney

A law firm in Chicago, IL is seeking a Mid-Level Financial Services Litigation Associate Attorney with a focus on defending claims under various federal and state consumer protection laws. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 years of experience and be knowledgeable about commercial litigation practice and procedure in Illinois state and federal courts.

Duties:

• Defend claims under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA), and state consumer protection laws.
• Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare for litigation.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including motion practice, discovery, and trial preparation.
• Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and the court.
• Provide strategic advice and counsel to clients regarding financial services litigation matters.

Requirements:

• Illinois Bar admission is required.
• 4+ years of experience in financial services litigation.
• Knowledge of commercial litigation practice and procedure in Illinois state and federal courts.

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

Admission to the Illinois Bar.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of federal and state consumer protection laws.
• Experience with defending claims under the FDCPA, FCRA, TCPA, and state consumer protection laws.
• Legal research and writing skills.
• Litigation experience, including motion practice and trial preparation.
