A law firm in Wilmington is seeking a Junior-Mid Level Benefits Associate Attorney with 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice. The ideal candidate will have experience with qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements. Supporting benefits and compensation in M&A, ERISA litigation, and withdrawal liability experience is a plus. They must be detail-oriented and possess excellent writing, oral advocacy, communication, and legal analysis skills.

 

Duties:

  • Handle matters related to qualified retirement plans, health & welfare plans, and executive & deferred compensation arrangements
  • Provide support for benefits and compensation in M&A transactions
  • Assist with ERISA litigation and withdrawal liability matters
  • Conduct legal research and analysis
  • Draft legal documents and agreements
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external clients, attorneys, and staff
  • Maintain attention to detail in all aspects of work

 

Requirements:

  • 2-4 years of benefits experience in private practice
  • J.D. from an ABA accredited law school
  • Excellent academic credentials
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Education:

Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an ABA accredited law school

 

Certifications:

Admission to the State Bar
