Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Employment Associate to join its team in San Diego, California. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a variety of employment-related legal matters, providing valuable counsel and representation to clients.

Duties

  • Handle all aspects of employment litigation, including discrimination, leave, wage and hour, non-compete, and breach of contract matters.
  • Provide everyday employment and HR-related counseling to clients.
  • Draft employment-related policies and agreements.
  • Conduct investigations and deliver training sessions.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members.

Requirements

  • Graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Must be admitted or eligible for admission in California.
  • At least three years of employment law experience.
  • Experience in employment litigation before state and federal courts and administrative agencies.
  • Proficiency in advising employers on compliance matters.
  • Skilled in drafting employment policies and agreements.
  • Experience in conducting investigations and delivering compliance training.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize, stay organized, and exercise attention to detail.
  • Strong collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in team settings.

Education

  • JD or LLM from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the California Bar or eligibility for admission.

Skills

  • Strong litigation and counseling skills in employment law.
