Duties

  • Defend school districts in employment-related lawsuits, including wrongful termination and discrimination claims.
  • Advise school boards and HR departments on complex employment laws and develop proactive legal strategies.
  • Review and draft employment policies for school districts, ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
  • Provide training to school district leadership on legal compliance and best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of employment law experience with a focus on litigation and defense.
  • Experience in compliance, employee handbooks, and wage/hour audits.
  • School district defense experience required; trial experience preferred.
  • Experience with public entity defense is a plus.

Education

  • Bachelor's and Juris Doctor degrees.

Certifications

  • Member, State Bar of California in good standing.
