Job Overview: A law firm is seeking a Junior Employment and Labor Associate Attorney to assist in day-to-day employment and human-resources counseling for clients, handle employment-litigation matters, and support the team in various legal aspects.

Duties:

  • Review, analyze, and draft employment agreements, employee handbooks, severance agreements, and other employment documents.
  • Manage employment litigation matters, including non-compete disputes, single-plaintiff employment cases, and administrative issues.
  • Take and defend depositions in employment-litigation matters and manage written-discovery phases.
  • Guide clients on sensitive personnel issues and assist in policy review and implementation.
  • Support employment aspects of due diligence in mergers and acquisitions, including reviewing employment provisions for asset and stock purchase agreements.
  • Formulate legal strategy on litigation matters and work on other issues as needed.

Requirements:

  • Embrace teamwork and value collaboration.

Experience:

  • 1-4 years of employment litigation and counseling experience is required.
  • Trial experience at any level is a plus.
  • Experience and/or an interest in commercial and/or franchise litigation is a plus.

Education and Certifications:

  • Should be licensed to practice law in Missouri and be in good standing.
