Job Overview:

A well-established and growing law firm is seeking a Workers’ Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Jackson, Mississippi office. This role offers the opportunity to manage a dynamic caseload, handle discovery and litigation strategy, and contribute to a supportive and inclusive legal team. Location:

  • Ridgeland, MS

Duties:

  • Evaluate new cases and develop initial case strategy, budgets, and recommendations

  • Manage all aspects of case litigation including discovery, depositions, and hearings

  • Draft and review legal documents including discovery responses and pleadings

  • Oversee and collaborate with paralegals and legal support staff

  • Report on litigation events such as depositions and hearings

  • Negotiate settlements and prepare for trial where necessary

  • Maintain proactive and regular communication with clients and team members

Requirements:

  • 3–5 years of legal experience preferred, particularly in workers’ compensation or insurance defense

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and client communication abilities

  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment

  • Demonstrated initiative and reliability in task execution

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Mississippi

Skills:

  • Knowledge of workers’ compensation litigation processes and standards

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and willingness to learn firm-specific software

  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple ongoing matters
