Litigation Of Counsel

A law firm seeks a Litigation Of Counsel for its location in East Palo Alto, CA. This position requires a highly experienced individual with a strong litigation background, particularly in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation, and a science background (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology). Job Overview:

The Litigation Of Counsel will supervise associates, communicate with clients, work with experts, assist with fact development and depositions, review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda, and help develop case strategy.

Duties:

• Communicate effectively with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties verbally and in writing.
• Supervise associates and collaborate with them on various legal tasks.
• Work with experts and assist in developing case strategy.
• Review and draft discovery responses, briefs, motions, and memoranda.
• Assist with fact development and depositions.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence promptly.
• Meet deadlines and perform work duties efficiently.
• Foster positive work relationships and comply with firm policies and practices.
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, including working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform any other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• J.D. degree from a nationally recognized law school.
• Bar admission in the relevant jurisdiction(s).
• 8+ years of litigation experience, preferably gained at an AmLaw 100 firm.
• Direct and applicable experience with an AmLaw 100 law firm.
• Experience in product liability and/or complex commercial litigation.
• A background in science (MD, MPH, PharmD, Epidemiology) is required.
• Superior research, analytical, and writing skills.
• Experience with the pharmaceutical and medical device industry and clients is a plus.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and meet deadlines effectively.
• Strong project management skills and attention to detail.
