Job Title: Associate Attorney
Location: Charlotte, NC

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney to join their dynamic team. This full-time role, based in the firm’s Charlotte, North Carolina office, provides an exciting opportunity for a junior to mid-level attorney who is motivated to grow in a supportive environment. This position is ideal for those who are licensed to practice in both North and South Carolina and have an interest in advancing their career in litigation, particularly within insurance subrogation and collections.

Duties:

  • Manage and handle all aspects of litigation, from initial case evaluation through resolution.
  • Work independently on case management, including trial preparation and conducting discovery.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, including the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.
  • Represent clients in courtrooms, with a strong presence in litigation.
  • Create and execute litigation plans, including organizing case files and managing deadlines.
  • Update accounts in collections software (e.g., JST CollectMax) and maintain proper documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and courts, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Travel to courts throughout North and South Carolina as required.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all legal matters.

Requirements:

  • Must be licensed to practice law in North and South Carolina, in good standing with both State Bars.
  • 2-4 years of experience.
  • Experience in Creditors' rights or Motor Vehicle torts preferred
  • Ability to travel to select courts across North and South Carolina.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to manage a large volume of cases and meet deadlines efficiently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in North and South Carolina.

Skills:

  • Strong written and oral communication abilities.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Trial experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience in creditors' rights or motor vehicle torts is preferred.
  • Experience in post-judgment collections is a plus.
  • High level of proficiency with litigation and collections software.
