Job Title: Insurance Transactional And Regulatory Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm based in New York City is seeking a dynamic Associate Attorney to support its growing Insurance Regulatory and Transactional practice. The ideal candidate will bring prior experience in fund formation, investment management, or broker-dealer compliance and will advise clients on navigating the evolving legal landscape of insurance transactions and regulations. This position offers the opportunity to work with a nationally recognized team representing insurance companies, brokers, reinsurers, and related entities on complex corporate deals and regulatory challenges.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice on insurance regulatory compliance matters

  • Support clients with transactional work, including mergers, acquisitions, and restructurings in the insurance industry

  • Draft and negotiate contracts and corporate documentation

  • Advise on matters involving fund structures, investment products, and broker-dealer registration

  • Collaborate with attorneys across corporate, finance, and regulatory groups

  • Conduct legal research and regulatory analysis in support of insurance-related deals

  • Assist in structuring innovative insurance and reinsurance transactions

  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments impacting the insurance sector

Requirements:

  • Relevant legal experience in insurance regulatory and/or corporate transactional matters

  • Demonstrated background in fund formation, investment management, or broker-dealer regulatory work

  • Strong understanding of state and federal insurance regulations

  • Proficiency in managing multiple projects and transactions concurrently

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to the New York State Bar (or ability to obtain promptly if relocating)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal drafting and analytical skills

  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

  • Detail-oriented with a client-service mindset

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative legal team
