Job Overview

Multiple firms across the United States — including Am Law practices, mid-sized regional firms, and employment defense boutiques — are actively seeking Employment Defense Attorneys with 1–10+ years of experience.
With workplace regulations evolving, employee mobility increasing, and claim activity rising, labor and employment defense groups are expanding quickly to manage growing caseloads.

If you have experience defending employers in employment disputes, including:

  • Wage-and-hour defense, including class actions and PAGA matters

  • Discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims

  • Wrongful termination defense

  • EEOC, DFEH/CRD, and other agency proceedings

  • Handbook, policy advising, and compliance counseling

  • Employment litigation involving motions, depositions, and trial preparation

Duties

  • Defend employers in wage-and-hour, discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wrongful termination matters.

  • Represent clients before administrative agencies, including EEOC and state civil rights departments.

  • Conduct discovery, depositions, motion practice, and hearings.

  • Advise on employment policies, handbooks, compliance issues, and risk mitigation.

  • Assist in trial preparation and provide strategic support for active litigation.

  • Maintain strong communication with corporate clients, HR teams, and in-house counsel.

Requirements

  • 1–10+ years of labor & employment defense experience.

  • Background in wage-and-hour law, discrimination claims, or agency advocacy.

  • Strong litigation skills, including research, writing, and oral advocacy.

  • Ability to manage fast-moving defense dockets and multiple deadlines.

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

  • Admission to the bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
