A well-established litigation law firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Providence, Rhode Island office. This full-time hybrid position offers an exciting opportunity to represent clients before the Rhode Island Workers' Compensation Court. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong courtroom presence, effective communication skills, and the ability to manage an active caseload in a dynamic legal environment.

Location:

Duties:

  • Represent clients in courtroom hearings before the Rhode Island Workers’ Compensation Court

  • Manage a caseload of workers' compensation and insurance defense matters

  • Draft motions and legal documents; review medical records and employment documentation

  • Develop litigation strategies and provide legal analysis

  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and negotiations

  • Maintain regular communication with clients and keep them informed of case developments

  • Collaborate with colleagues on complex matters and contribute to team discussions

  • Ensure compliance with filing deadlines, court procedures, and ethical standards

Requirements:

  • 1–5 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims or insurance defense matters

  • Ability to manage a full caseload independently

  • Comfortable in court and capable of independently conducting hearings

  • Quick thinker with strong strategic and advocacy skills

  • Commitment to professional integrity and high-quality client service

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Rhode Island and in good standing

Skills:

  • Proficient in legal research, drafting, and litigation procedures
