A law firm in New York City is seeking a seasoned Regulatory Practice Partner to provide strategic legal advice and support in Crypto and Digital Assets transactions and regulatory matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to build a team and support existing clients, with the added advantage of a portable book of business.

Duties

  • Provide expert legal counsel on Crypto and Digital Assets transactions and regulatory issues.
  • Oversee and lead the development of a regulatory practice team.
  • Support and advise existing clients on regulatory compliance matters.
  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of securities and derivatives compliance in various contexts, including traditional broker-dealers, money services businesses, money transmitters, banking regulatory, fund compliance, securities exchange, derivatives exchange application, formation, and compliance work.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in securities and derivatives compliance.
  • In-depth knowledge of traditional broker-dealers, money services business, money transmitters, banking regulations, fund compliance, securities exchange, and derivatives exchange applications.
  • A portable book of business is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage a team.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the New York State Bar.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong leadership and team-building abilities.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient in legal research and analysis.
