Job Overview:
A leading law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Banking & Finance practice group. This position involves advising borrowers and lenders on a broad range of financing transactions, including private credit deals, syndicated credit facilities, and growth capital financings. The role offers an opportunity to work on both domestic and international matters as part of a high-performing, collaborative legal team.

Location:

  • Irvine, CA

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel to borrowers and lenders in various financing arrangements

  • Draft, review, and negotiate credit agreements and related financing documents

  • Work on private credit, syndicated loan, and growth capital transactions

  • Collaborate with cross-office teams on both U.S. and cross-border deals

  • Deliver commercially focused legal advice in a fast-paced environment

  • Maintain high-quality service and build strong relationships with clients

Requirements:

  • 2 to 6 years of relevant experience in a law firm Banking & Finance practice

  • Strong academic and professional credentials

  • Exceptional client service and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to work efficiently as part of a team and independently

  • Admission to the Bar in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Must meet licensing and practice requirements for the location of employment

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited U.S. law school

Certifications:

  • Member in good standing of at least one U.S. state bar

  • For California roles: Must be admitted or eligible to practice upon successful completion of the California Bar Examination

Skills:

  • Proficient in handling a wide range of debt finance transactions

  • Strong drafting and negotiating abilities

  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and meet deadlines

  • Collaborative and solution-oriented approach to legal work
