Job Overview

A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney in Irvine, CA, to join their team as a plaintiff-side employment litigator. This role offers immediate courtroom experience and the opportunity to manage a docket of cases from inception through trial.

Duties

  • Manage a docket of employment law cases from inception through trial.
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, discovery, motions, and trial briefs.
  • Take and defend depositions.
  • Appear in court to argue motions and advocate for clients.
  • Engage with clients and help shape case strategy.
  • Participate in mediations, arbitrations, and negotiations.
  • Assist in trial preparation and serve as second chair where applicable.

Requirements

  • Active member in good standing with the California State Bar.
  • 1-6 years of litigation experience, with employment law preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Ability to manage cases independently and meet deadlines.
  • A strong desire to grow as a trial lawyer and litigator.
  • Experience with trial or trial-prep is a significant plus.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active California State Bar membership.

Skills

  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines.
