Job Title: Employment Litigation Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm in Portland is seeking a skilled Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with 4-6 years of substantive litigation experience. The role focuses on representing employers in civil disputes, including insured employment claims and preventative counseling. Duties:

  • Represent employer-side clients in a broad range of employment-related disputes

  • Handle matters in both federal and state courts

  • Prepare pleadings, discovery requests/responses, motions, and other court filings

  • Participate in depositions, mediations, arbitrations, and judicial settlement conferences

  • Advocate in oral arguments and contribute to trial preparation and trial strategy

  • Guide clients on risk management and legal compliance

  • Collaborate with colleagues to deliver high-quality, timely legal solutions

Requirements:

  • 4-6 years of litigation experience, specifically with employment matters

  • Demonstrated experience drafting motions and pleadings, handling discovery, and arguing in court

  • Prior participation in mediations, arbitrations, and/or trials

  • Strong organizational and case management abilities in fast-paced settings

  • Active Bar membership in Oregon (required)

  • Admission to the Washington State Bar (preferred but not required)

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Admission to practice law in Oregon (required)

  • Admission in Washington (preferred)

Skills:
