Patent Agent needed for Philadelphia office

A law firm in Philadelphia is seeking a Patent Agent with 2+ years of experience to support the firm's patent prosecution practice. The ideal candidate will have proven experience drafting patent applications and possess strong technical expertise in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, and lasers. The role involves drafting patent applications, conducting technical research, and prosecuting applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.

Duties:

• Draft patent applications and prosecute applications through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Draft scientific and technical patent applications clearly and concisely.
• Conduct technical research using available resources to support patent-related matters.
• Collaborate with partners and clients to understand technology and patent strategies.
• Manage internal and client-driven deadlines, handling assignments from multiple partners and clients.
• Provide technical expertise to assist clients in protecting their technology with patents.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of experience drafting patent applications.
• Specialization in electronics, semi-conductors, circuitry, optics, and lasers.
• Registered to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• Strong attention to detail, writing skills, and analytical skills.
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong time management skills to meet deadlines.

Education:

Bachelor's or Graduate Degree in a relevant field.

Certifications:

• Registration to practice in front of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office.
• If appropriate, licensed to practice law in their respective state.
