A law firm based in Atlanta, GA, is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for managing files from signup through trial, working on prelitigation and litigation files, and leading litigation and prelitigation teams. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers. The ideal candidate will have experience in personal injury litigation and be willing to expand their trial skills and knowledge.

 

Duties:

  • Handle and manage files from signup through trial
  • Work up prelitigation files through presuit negotiations
  • Work up litigation files from filing the lawsuit, handling written discovery and depositions, and trying the case
  • Interact regularly with clients, adjusters, staff, and other lawyers over the phone and in person
  • Successfully lead a litigation team of 5 plus people
  • Successfully lead a prelitigation team of 2-3
  • Litigate a case from beginning to end
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment
  • Supervise and manage other team members

 

Requirements:

  • Admission to some or all Georgia federal courts
  • Pre-litigation case management and negotiation experience
  • Experience handling cases involving commercial motor vehicles
  • Willingness to expand trial skills and knowledge
  • Willingness to expand knowledge of trucking litigation and obtain board certification in truck accident law
  • Ability to work independently yet be accountable
  • Trial experience preferred
  • Commercial case experience a plus
  • Experience litigating trucking and other commercial motor vehicle cases a plus
  • 3+ years of personal injury litigation experience
  • Graduate of an American Bar Association (ABA)-accredited law school
  • Current member of the Georgia Bar in good standing
