Job Overview

A law firm seeks a talented and motivated Labor and Employment Associate to join their team in Los Angeles, CA. The successful candidate will work closely with senior partners, assisting clients in navigating complex labor and employment matters. This role involves collaborating on challenging cases, developing legal strategies, and providing valuable counsel to clients.

Duties

  • Support senior attorney in labor and employment litigation cases.
  • Assist in developing strategies to resolve employment-related disputes.
  • Conduct thorough legal research on labor and employment laws.
  • Advise clients on employment contracts, workplace policies, and compliance.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Prepare for hearings, trials, and other legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate and draft employment and separation agreements.
  • Cultivate strong client relationships and provide strategic legal advice.
  • Stay informed about developments in labor and employment law.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience managing cases and litigation.
  • Experience representing employers in litigation matters.
  • CA Bar admission is required.
  • Strong legal writing and research skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general office equipment.
  • Knowledge of iManage, ProLaw, or related software is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to collaborate with attorneys and legal professionals.
  • Must pass a background check.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills

  • Proficient in legal research and e-filing systems.
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and communicate effectively.
