A law firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking a Junior Government Contracts Associate Attorney to handle diverse government contract issues, including bid protests, claims litigation, investigations, compliance counseling, and M&A due diligence. The ideal candidate should possess 1-2 years of experience in a law firm's government contracts practice or equivalent experience in procurement-related issues, such as through a clerkship with the US Court of Federal Claims or Boards of Contract Appeals. Admission to the DC Bar and direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience are essential.

Duties:

  • Manage a variety of government contract issues, including bid protests, claims litigation, investigations, compliance counseling, and M&A due diligence.
  • Conduct legal research and provide advice on government contract matters.
  • Draft legal documents, including pleadings, contracts, and compliance documents.
  • Represent clients in negotiations, hearings, and court proceedings.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients on complex government contract matters.

Requirements:

  • 1-2 years of experience in a law firm's government contracts practice or equivalent experience handling procurement-related issues for a Federal agency or through a clerkship with the US Court of Federal Claims or Boards of Contract Appeals.
  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the DC Bar.
  • Direct and applicable AmLaw 100 law firm experience.

Education:

  • J.D. degree from an accredited law school.
  • Law school coursework related to Government Contracts is preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the DC Bar.

Skills:

  • Demonstrated interest in and experience with government contracts.
  • Strong legal research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in handling complex government contract issues.
