Job Overview:
A leading national law firm is seeking a Senior Construction Litigation Attorney to support its growing Construction Practice Group across multiple Texas offices. This role is suited for an experienced litigator with at least six years of construction law experience, particularly in managing complex disputes from case initiation through trial. The position offers the opportunity to work with a high-performing legal team, engaging with a diverse client base across the construction industry.

Location:

  • San Antonio, TX

Duties:

  • Lead complex construction litigation matters from inception through resolution

  • Prepare for and participate in trials, depositions, mediations, and hearings

  • Handle motion practice and manage full case files

  • Draft and review legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, and contracts

  • Conduct in-depth legal research and formulate case strategy

  • Negotiate settlements and manage client relationships

  • Collaborate with team members across offices to deliver exceptional legal outcomes

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in construction litigation

  • Significant trial preparation and courtroom experience

  • Experience in motion practice and taking/defending depositions

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and time management skills

  • Experience in insurance defense is a plus

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex caseloads with minimal supervision

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the State of Texas (Required)

Skills:

  • Excellent legal research and writing skills

  • Persuasive oral and written advocacy abilities

  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills

  • Proficiency in managing construction law issues and contract disputes

  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize multiple projects

  • Team-oriented mindset with strong communication and collaboration skills
