A law firm in Philadelphia, PA, is seeking a skilled Matrimonial Trial Attorney to represent clients in family law matters. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of Pennsylvania family law, be proficient in trial advocacy, and demonstrate a commitment to advocating for clients' best interests.

 

Duties:

  • Represent clients in matrimonial cases, including divorce, child custody, support, and other related matters.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare cases for mediation, court hearings, and trials.
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients, explaining their rights and options under Pennsylvania family law.
  • Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court to ensure cases progress smoothly.
  • Negotiate settlements when possible and advocate zealously for clients in contested matters.

 

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania with no pending disciplinary actions.
  • 2-3 years of experience practicing family law, with a preference for candidates with 5+ years.
  • Availability to attend mediations, court hearings, and trials as required.
  • Basic proficiency in computer use and eagerness to learn new software systems, including Clio.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to clients.

 

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Pennsylvania Bar.

 

Skills:

  • Comprehensive knowledge of Pennsylvania family law statutes and procedures.
  • Trial advocacy skills, including courtroom presence and persuasive argumentation.
  • Legal research and writing abilities.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
