Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a skilled Employment Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in employment litigation, particularly in defending federal and state wage and hour cases. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience handling complex employment disputes, including collective and class actions, and be adept at working with various regulatory agencies. This position is based in Los Angeles, CA.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in employment litigation matters before federal and state courts.
  • Defend cases related to wage and hour disputes, including collective and class actions.
  • Handle investigations and proceedings before the U.S. Department of Labor, California Department of Industrial Relations, California Division of Labor Standards Enforcement, EEOC, and other state and local human rights agencies.
  • Represent clients in matters before the National Labor Relations Board, including issues related to union organizing, collective bargaining, unfair labor practices, union elections, and arbitrations.
  • Conduct legal research, draft legal documents, and prepare case strategies.
  • Provide legal counsel and guidance to clients on employment law issues.
  • Manage case files and ensure timely progression of litigation matters.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals within the firm to achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 3+ years of employment litigation experience.
  • At least 3 years of litigation experience defending federal and state wage and hour cases, including collective and class actions.
  • Proven experience handling investigations and proceedings with various regulatory agencies.
  • Demonstrated experience with employment litigation in both federal and state court.
  • JD from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Admitted to practice law in California.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in California.

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of employment law, including wage and hour regulations.
  • Excellent litigation skills and experience handling complex employment disputes.
  • Proficiency in managing investigations and proceedings before regulatory agencies.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
