A law firm located in Chicago is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with a focus on analyzing insurance policies, drafting coverage opinions, and handling insurance coverage litigation. The ideal candidate will have experience in areas such as D&O, professional liability, cyber, financial institutions, and fidelity and crime. The Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney will play a key role in the firm's insurance coverage practice, analyzing policies, drafting opinions, and representing clients in insurance coverage litigation. They will utilize their legal expertise to address coverage issues and provide sound advice to clients.

 

Duties:

  • Analyze insurance policies to identify coverage issues and potential liabilities.
  • Draft coverage opinions, reservations, and disclaimers, providing clients with clear and concise advice.
  • Handle insurance coverage litigation, representing clients in court proceedings and negotiations.
  • Focus on areas such as D&O, professional liability, cyber, financial institutions, and fidelity and crime.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategies and arguments.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and opposing counsel.
  • Manage and prioritize multiple projects to meet deadlines and deliver high-quality work.

 

Requirements:

  • Superior academic credentials from a top-tier accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Illinois Bar.
  • 4+ years of experience in insurance coverage, preferably in areas such as D&O, professional liability, cyber, financial institutions, and fidelity and crime.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent legal research and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, and other Microsoft Office products.
  • Ability to identify and resolve problems quickly.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from a top-tier accredited law school.
  • Member in good standing of the Illinois Bar.

  • Thorough understanding of insurance coverage principles and policies.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide clear guidance to clients.
  • Strong advocacy and negotiation skills.
