Job Title: Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A prestigious law firm based in San Francisco, CA, is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team. This role primarily focuses on employment law, providing advice, counseling, and litigation support within the firm’s Labor and Employment Law Group. The ideal candidate should have at least five years of experience in employment law, particularly in advising clients on issues such as terminations, leave of absence, investigations, and wage practices. This position offers opportunities for client-facing work, career growth, and involvement in various practice groups across the firm.

Duties:

  • Provide legal advice and counseling to clients on employment law issues, including wage and hour matters, terminations, leave of absence policies, and workplace investigations.
  • Manage and litigate employment law disputes, focusing on defense-side representation.
  • Draft employment policies and other related legal documents.
  • Collaborate with other practice groups within the firm as needed.
  • Work independently and as part of a team to deliver high-quality legal services to clients.
  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail and superior writing and analytical skills.
  • Maintain client relationships and contribute to business development initiatives.

Requirements:

  • Active California Bar License.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in employment law, with a focus on litigation and/or counseling.
  • Experience in wage and hour litigation, traditional labor law, and advising clients on employment law issues is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work independently and handle complex legal matters with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A track record of success in managing a diverse caseload and client relationships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the California State Bar.

Skills:

  • Expertise in employment law, including litigation and advisory work.
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Client-facing experience and the ability to build lasting professional relationships.
