Immigration Attorney - EOIR

Job Overview:
A well-regarded law firm in Houston, TX, is seeking a dedicated EOIR Immigration Attorney to join its growing team. This position presents a strong opportunity for an experienced legal professional to handle complex immigration matters involving removal proceedings, detained and non-detained clients, and appeals. The role includes significant collaboration with legal assistants and attorneys and offers long-term growth potential in a supportive legal environment.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before Immigration Courts, USCIS interviews, and the Board of Immigration Appeals

  • Prepare and file applications such as I-589, 42A, 42B, I-485, SIJS, and prosecutorial discretion requests

  • Review and file affirmative USCIS petitions, including I-130, I-601A, and U visa applications

  • Conduct client meetings to assess strategy and case planning

  • Oversee and coordinate with a team of paralegals to maintain service quality

  • Draft and submit legal briefs and supporting documentation for immigration cases

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience in immigration law, specifically in removal defense and USCIS filings

  • Licensed and admitted to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction

  • Proficient in managing a high-volume caseload with efficiency and attention to detail

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in good standing (any state)

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, analytical, and writing skills

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

  • Proficiency with immigration case management software is a plus

  • High-level interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven legal environment
