Litigation Attorney

A law firm is currently seeking a Litigation Attorney for their Los Angeles, CA office. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in asbestos litigation with excellent research, writing, and analytical skills. They must possess superior communication abilities, both verbal and written, and the capability to effectively interact with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties. The candidate should be detail-oriented, capable of producing high-quality work products in a timely manner, and able to meet deadlines consistently. The Litigation Attorney will be responsible for managing a case docket, including appearing in court and participating in depositions. Additionally, they should be adept at working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Duties:

• Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with clients, lawyers, business professionals, and third parties.
• Produce deliverables, answer phone calls, and reply to correspondence in an efficient and responsive manner.
• Provide timely, accurate, and quality work product.
• Successfully meet deadlines, expectations, and perform work duties as required.
• Foster positive work relationships.
• Comply with all firm policies and practices.
• Engage in both physical and sedentary activities, such as working at a computer for extended periods, participating in digital/virtual conference calls, and attending meetings as needed.
• Perform all other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned.

Requirements:

• Asbestos litigation experience is required.
• Admission to the California Bar is necessary.
• 4+ years of asbestos litigation experience is preferred.
• Experience managing a case docket and appearing in court is advantageous.
• Must be licensed to practice law in California.

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the California Bar.

Skills:

• Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Ability to take and defend depositions.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a larger team.
